In Ayurveda digestive strength is the key to health and well being. For ages in India people participate in Pancha-Karma 5 cleansing methods designed specifically to strengthen digestion and release physical and emotional tension from the body.
Cleansing is a journey to ultimate health through digestive health. We all have heard the adage “you are what you eat” and in holistic health “You are what you digest” so by improving digestive function and eliminating lymphatic congestion we all become the healthy foods that we eat.

Cleansing can result in benefits you can feel such as: Balance blood sugar, weight regulation, eliminate toxins, improve mood, feel light, clear and uplifted. Re-energize the body and mind by creating healthy habits that support your highest nature. Our bodies are in essence is the most wise of any creature, however when stagnation is present things build up such as in a blocked river channel. Using it’s discriminative capacity the mind-body complex innately knows we change and heal by occasionally giving the digestion a break from common allergens such as: dairy, wheat, eggs, refined-sugars, and caffeine we increase our chances of long-term health by un- blocking the river of natural healing.
During the main cleanse we will reset the fat burning capacity of the body. When our nervous system functions in a calm state we fluidly move from glucose (sugar metabolism) to glycogen (fat stored metabolism) when one loses this ability long-term weight gain and stress ensue.
In the world there is a continual input of impurities from pesticides, heavy metals, chemicals, pollutants, and even negative energy. The body takes these toxins deep to the cells, which eventually leads to inflammation and disease. The cleanse will free us from lymphatic congestion by eliminating difficult to digest foods that increase stagnation and giving the body greater capacity to ward off future toxins and release current impurities.
By slowing down and using self-inquiry, we will release long-term emotional patterning which allows the body to function in a calm state leaving energy for optimum digestive functioning. According to Ayurveda when the gastrointestinal tract is in a state of clarity our body, mind and spirit also become peaceful and happy.
Ayurvedic body treatments are a wonderful component of Pancha Karma. Within Ayurveda, body treatments and massage are indicated as they support you on emotional, spiritual, and physical levels. They are performed within Ayurvedic hospitals in India as part of preventative health care where the whole person is treated, not only symptoms. Body treatments prevent illness and aging, strengthen body's immune system, bestow mental clarity, enhance spiritual awareness, and removing ama (accumulated toxins in the body). Ayurvedic treatments will be available during the cleanse, including abhyanga, shirodhara, head massage, kansa vataki (foot massage), udvartana, swedana, and pinda swedana. Herbal oils are used with aromatherapy that is customized for your dosha for a personalized experience. These treatments offer rejuvenating and detoxifying benefits and also help clear mental and emotional debris, allowing you to experience your true self.
What we look forward to in supporting Yoga students in-group cleansing is the Shakti/Energy of the individuals merging in intention to support a common goal.
